Privacy Policy

Last updated: July 19, 2026

This policy explains what personal data CarryCircle collects when you use our marketplace, how we use it, who we share it with, and the rights you have over it. It applies to Shoppers, Travelers, and anyone else who creates an account or interacts with CarryCircle.

1. Introduction

[DATA CONTROLLER] ([COMPANY LEGAL NAME]) is the controller of personal data processed through CarryCircle. This policy explains what personal data we collect from you, why we collect it, how it is used, and the choices and rights available to you. By creating an account or otherwise using CarryCircle, you acknowledge that your personal data will be processed as described in this policy.

2. Data we collect

We collect the following categories of personal data in connection with your use of CarryCircle:

  • Account data: your name, email address, and password hash used to create and secure your CarryCircle account.
  • Identity and KYC data: government-issued ID details and selfie or liveness verification results collected and verified through Stripe Identity when you complete identity verification as a Traveler or Shopper.
  • Transaction data: the Requests you post, Offers you submit or receive, messages exchanged with counterparties, and payment records, including amounts charged, held in escrow, and released.
  • Device and usage data: information about the device, browser, and network you use to access CarryCircle, along with log data such as pages viewed, actions taken, and timestamps.

3. How we use your data

We use the personal data described above for the following purposes:

  • To operate the CarryCircle marketplace, including matching Requests and Offers and holding and releasing escrow funds.
  • To verify your identity and help prevent fraud, impersonation, and other misuse of the platform.
  • To process payments between Shoppers and Travelers through our payment processor.
  • To send you transactional email, such as Request, offer, payment, and delivery notices, and security alerts.
  • To comply with our legal obligations, including tax, anti-fraud, and law-enforcement requests.

4. Service providers

We rely on the following third-party service providers to operate CarryCircle. Each processes personal data on our behalf and only for the purposes described below:

  • Stripe — processes payments and holds escrow funds, and performs identity verification through Stripe Identity.
  • Postmark — delivers transactional email, such as account, Request, offer, and delivery notices.
  • Better Auth — manages authentication and session security for your CarryCircle account.
  • Cloudflare — hosts the CarryCircle platform and stores application data in D1 (database) and R2 (file storage).

5. When we share data

We share personal data with the counterparty to a transaction, such as the Shopper or Traveler matched to your Request or Offer, only to the extent necessary to complete that delivery, for example sharing contact and delivery details once a match is made. We also share personal data with the service providers listed above so they can perform the functions described, and with regulators, law enforcement, or other third parties where we are legally required to do so or where necessary to protect the rights, safety, or property of CarryCircle or our members. CarryCircle does not sell your personal data.

6. Data retention

We keep personal data for [RETENTION PERIOD], or for as long as required to comply with our legal, tax, and regulatory obligations, whichever is longer. Once that period ends, we delete or anonymize the data so that it can no longer be linked to you.

7. Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the following rights over your personal data under [GOVERNING PRIVACY LAW]:

  • Access: the right to obtain a copy of the personal data we hold about you.
  • Correction: the right to have inaccurate or incomplete personal data corrected.
  • Deletion: the right to request that we delete your personal data, subject to our legal retention obligations.
  • Portability: the right to receive your personal data in a structured, commonly used format.
  • Objection: the right to object to certain uses of your personal data.

To exercise any of these rights, contact us using the details in the Contact us section below. We may need to verify your identity before responding to a request.

8. International transfers

Because CarryCircle connects Shoppers and Travelers across borders, your personal data may be processed by us or our service providers in countries other than the one in which you live. Where we transfer personal data internationally, we rely on [TRANSFER SAFEGUARD] safeguards to help ensure it continues to receive an appropriate level of protection.
